A SHG is an informal association to enhance the member’s financial security as primary focus and other common interest of members such as area development, awareness, motivation, leadership, training and associating in other social inter-mediation programmes for the benefit of the entire Community.SHG are seen as drivers of rural development. Self Help Groups (SHG) play a significant role in the development process of countries like India.
In 1981 Shreyas initiated Farm clubs and Mahilasamajams. Later it developed as NHG in 1994 and as SHG in 1996. In 2022 we are celebrating SHG Jubilee year. There are diverse activities for SHG such as Monthly monitoring and evaluation, Agriculture development programme, Charity, Entrepreneurship development programme, Health and education development programmes, Disaster management, children and youth development programmes. 1836 women headed SHG’s is an achievement in attaining Gender development.
